Read Here lathe work turning threading
Trading life for money 7 mins at a time. This is a job I was doing at work. Pretty simple, just faceing, rough turn, finish turn, threading, and debur. .150 doc rough pass, .065 finish pass ,700 rpm .006/rev feed. 1"-14 thread material is free machining steel non leaded 2620? maybe. Lathe is a later '90s Fortune 1640. 16" swing 40" between centers. Has a auto feed stop feature. Used here with roughing passes only. Its great for staying away from those hot flyin chips. Its a sweet machine! vid taken with a flashplayer. I could never get those perfect clear closeup shots like some vids on here but it came out pretty good IMO. HA I took the camera to work to show some vids of my dog to some friends, since it was in my pocket aready decided to take vid of this work on the lathe to see how it would come out. let me know what you think. One other thing. Why does it take so long to upload a vid. Am I doin something wrong? This vid took 5 HOURS to upload. Is that normal? 5 hours?!
